METROID
Some ideas stay with us for years. Until they come back to life.
That was the case with this Baby Metroid created by Rafael Vallaperde, Founder and CEO of Lightfarm. Inspired by the world of Super Metroid, the project began as a personal tribute to one of the franchises that most influenced his journey as both an artist and a gamer. At the time, the character was modeled in ZBrush and rendered in Blender, in a process that took several days of modeling and rendering.

Years later, Rafael decided to revisit the project to explore how newer tools could expand an existing idea. Using Seedance and Nano Banana to generate the visuals, and Suno to create the soundtrack and audio effects, he brought the project back as a practical test of the possibilities these new tools could offer.
The contrast between the two moments made the exercise even more interesting. What once required three to five days of modeling and rendering could now be explored in approximately three hours, making it possible to test new interpretations from an already established foundation.
As part of Lightfarm’s Originals initiative, we like to approach new technologies the same way we approach any creative tool: with curiosity. Projects like this are an opportunity to experiment, learn, and discover how far a good idea can go when it finds new ways to evolve.
